Hayden Paddon: Rally Finland update – testing and votes

Things have been going well here in Finland as we build up to the weekends rally.

Things have been going well here in Finland as we build up to the weekends rally. The last couple of days we have had the chance to a acclimatize to the hot conditions and also have been out watching the Ford WRC test. Today we had our own test along with other PWRC and SWRC teams which went very well. We are making more good steps forward with the suspension and on such a fast rally as Finland, car stability is crucial. We are also making good in-roads into the rear end grip issue that we have had all season long. Unfortunately the road did get cut up a little so our test got cut short as the road was becoming non-representative and rough, so we will use shakedown on Thursday to confirm some final changes. You can see our video blog and in-car footage from today’s test by the below link.

Our Symtech team have done a fantastic job preparing the car for the event and everything is feeling good. We now have a couple of days of recce ahead of us and despite having some pace notes that we can re-use from last year, we have to write about half of the stages.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! Wrc.com is now running an online poll of 10 young drivers who fans think should be trailed by VW for their world rally team. This is a great chance for us to show the WRC world the support we have. So please pass on the word to friends, family and anyone that has the internet that can vote for us. You can see the poll by the following link:

Thank you for your support and we look forward to keeping you up to date throughout the rally. I am really looking forward to this one and despite their being some very fast local drivers here we are still targeting a podium finish.
