A rally spectacle of the special class

35,000 motor sport fans made the pilgrimage last year in state in Austria to be at the Gruppe-B Rallyelegenden here.

Also in this year there will be a varied program for old and young at the Gruppe-B Rallyelegenden in Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer/Salzburg on 8th and 9th of july.

Around 35,000 motor sport fans made the pilgrimage last year in the most beautiful state in Austria to be at the Gruppe-B Rallyelegenden here. Repent hasn't the often hundreds of kilometers long journey anyone, the response was huge and very positive. Nevertheless, not one rested on its laurels during the winter months, because even in 2016 waiting many highlights on the viewer:

In the exclusive "autohaus" Showroom of the Hotel Gut Brandlhof will the Group-S-Prototypes Worldpremiere take place from Friday at 11:00 o'clock. Totally 5 manufacturers show their prototypes that have never been seen before on a special stage, since the introduction of the Group S after the end of Group B was never realized. For three decades the mysterious prototypes kept a slumber in the various workshops, to be presented for the first time to the public at the Gruppe-B Rallyelegenden in Saalfelden. In addition, numerous stars will gather at the time, such as the former Lancia Stratos pilot and five times winner of the Rallye Monte Carlo, Sandro Munari or Anneliese Abarth, the wife of the much too soon deceased racing driver and engineer Karl Abarth. Even Guy Colsoul, in his former Belgian Rally Champion, who also raced the Dakar Rally and who was in the development of the Mitsubishi Evo`s has announced his visit. Under the "cauldron" will bring the downtown Saalfelden quake some Group-S-Prototypes.

LIVE ON TV

In the classic highlights, the city-special "cauldron" and the "Night of Thunder" at the ÖAMTC Driving Centre of Hotel Gut Brandlhof, there is also to announce some new features: The "Night of Thunder" begins like last year at 19:00 with an impressive show program. The special stage will then start at 20:30. From 20:15 the Austrian Television (ORF) transmits the "Night of Thunder" 22:00 live, together with a summary of the first rally day.

The viewers popular City-Special-Stage "cauldron" was amended and extended – and this is in the best interest of the audience. By extending the rally fans can better move within the Special Stage and have no longer to endure in rows of three or more. There is also the branch office of Maishofen from the Porsche Club Steiermark who makes a special exhibition at the Town Hall Square of Saalfelden. The start of the City-Special-Stage will be on Saturday, 9th of July at 18:20.

New Stages provide variety

Two new stages can also be found in the program: now we also drive in the beautiful Zell am See. A Special-Stage right before the open gates of the hangars at the airfield to remember the early years of motorsport in Austria, as young talents like Jochen Rindt beat their cars around straw bales on the airfield runways.

Particularly proudly shows the organizing team on the Special stage up to the local reservoirs, the first time in the history of Alpine reservoirs Kaprun / Hohe Tauern the 12.5 kilometer road will be opened. Five tunnels and an altitude difference of 1,200 meters above sea level await the Participants. At the finish is a king's view panorma on 14 "three-thousanders" mountains.

Also the numerous motorsport fans get some highlight at the Panoramastraße Special-Stage too: A shuttle bus is available to all media representatives and spectators from 8:00 to 11:00 for disposal to bring them either at the middle station, or directly to the reservoirs of where you can see around 2.5 kilometers of the Stage. Finally, I would like to invite all media representatives to the opening of the Group-S-Exhibition on Friday 8th of July at 11:00 in the exclusive "autohaus" Showroom at Hotel Gut Brandlhof in Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer.
